The Institute for Mediterranean Studies of the National Research Council (CNR-ISMed) has expanded in recent years with the opening of new sites and an increase in human resources.

All this is naturally favouring the development of new research activities, the activation of new projects, networks, agreements, increasingly oriented towards an interdisciplinary and inclusive approach, in the field of studies with a Mediterranean focus.

Today, the Institute employs a total of 90 staff members, including the director, 50 between researchers and technologists, 7 between technicians and technical operators, located between the main headquarters in Naples, the other headquarters in Palermo, Rome, Milan and in the URT (Territorial Research Units) in Bagheria (Palermo).
