Profile

Aurelio Malandrino studies mainly Italian literature of XIII-XIV^th centuries, taking special interest in tradition and reception of Francis Petrarch’s works.  

He carried out the censuses of the manuscripts bearing Petrarch’s works preserved in the Marciana Library (Venice) and in the National Library of Naples; he also dedicated some articles to the most relevant case studies emerged during the researches. 

Recently, he has intensified his studies about the relationships between the works of Petrarch and Boccaccio to explore eventual intertextual links and the consequent critical implications. 

He participates in the project of critical edition of Petrarch’s Lettere disperse. 

Moreover, he has studied form a philological perspective the dispatches of two Venetian ambassadors who carried out important missions abroad at the beginning of the XVI^th century (Alvise Mocenigo in France, Gasparo Contarini at the imperial court of Charles V).  

In the period 2022-2024 he taught Methodologies of critical edition of documents (30 hours) at the 1^st specialization course for archivists organized by the State Archive of Florence. 

He holds the National Scientific Habilitation as Associate professor in two disciplinary scientific sectors: 10/F1 Italian Literature and 10/F3 Italian Linguistics and Philology. 

He is a member of the editorial staff of the journal Studi Petrarcheschi.
