Abstract

The feasibility study for the realization of a Biodistrict on the territory that falls in the municipalities of the province of Palermo and, in particular, “Bagheria, Santa Flavia, Casteldaccia, Altavilla Milicia, Trabia and, possibly, in other neighboring municipalities, if closely related to the first, for local development strategy”, it is proposed to carry out a preliminary analysis of the context, both by referring to data available from the main sources of information (Istat, Chambers of Commerce, FADN database, etc. …) and resorting to a direct survey. It will proceed, then, with a swot analysis of strengths, weaknesses: limits to be considered, opportunities and threats. An outline of objectives will also be drawn up: Increase in organic production; Growth of the local production fabric; Involvement of research centers for a virtuous exchange with businesses, to increase technology transfer; Increase in tourism demand.
The study will conclude with a reflection on existing biodistricts and the drafting of an operational plan.

Objectives

The purpose of the feasibility study will be a reflection on the existing biodistricts and the drafting of an operational plan in principle. The objectives of the study are: 1) Verify the possibility of an increase in organic production in the area under analysis. 2) Growth of the local production fabric both as a dimensional growth of the companies in the sector, both in terms of employees and in terms of turnover; 3) Involvement of research centers for a virtuous exchange with companies, so as to increase technology transfer; 4) Increase in tourism demand.
