Abstract

The many aspects that govern the world of fishing require continuous updating, both by those who carry out functions of planning, management and control of the sector, and by professionals responsible for providing increasingly current and appropriate services. Many changes are taking place in the world of fisheries and aquaculture, many of which are also due to the entry into force of numerous rules whose effects have significant impacts on the sector. In this reference scenario, the management of professional fishing in protected areas takes on a specific connotation, which could represent “privileged areas for experimenting with paths aimed at sustainable social and economic development from an environmental point of view, first of all on a local scale, and then drawing examples, lessons, good practices to be replicated in a larger dimension”.
