Valentina Noviello
Profile
Valentina Noviello is a research fellow working at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies of the National Research Council (CNR-ISMed) in Naples, as part of the project: ‘Institutions and Markets in the Mediterranean’.
She graduated in 2005, according to the old system, from the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples in Conservation of Cultural Heritage with an ethno-anthropological landscape-environmental focus, equivalent to a degree in Literature, with an experimental thesis in Cultural Anthropology on Ritual Migrations.
He obtained a Level II Master’s Degree in “Sustainable Tourism, Management of the Ethnographic and Intangible Heritage”, at the University of Salerno (2006); a Postgraduate Course in “Immigration and Public Policies for Reception and Integration” at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Naples Federico II (2012) and a Higher Training Course for “Expert in Experience Design” (2014), at the National Research Council. In 2021, he obtained a second Master’s degree in Psychology, on the humanisation of well-being and care in the context of group psychodynamics, narrative medicine and medical anthropology.
An expert in Cultural Anthropology and Phenomenology of Cultural Transformations, she is currently a PhD student in Thought, Mentality, Relationships and Transmission of Knowledge, at the University of Barcelona, with a thesis on Campania’s Cultural Heritage.
As an experienced anthropologist, her research interests focus in particular on the preservation, valorisation and communication of tangible and intangible cultural heritage through new research methodologies, including through the use of ITC. He conducts research with a particular focus on issues relating to cultural transformations and peoples’ identities, migration and phenomena related to the development of territories and societal innovation, with specific regard to the areas of socio-cultural human rights, health and well-being of individuals.
He has more than ten years’ experience in academic and school teaching and in the context of communication and cultural design, gaining expertise on these issues also through collaboration in numerous projects of national and international relevance, within the departmental themes of CNR ISMed.

- 2019 – Home Care Project from 17.12.2019 until its conclusion (Ref. Service Order Identifier: 01050.O04.01, prot. 29/2019). The research work resulted in the drafting of a related Scientific Report, aimed at providing concrete tools, able to ensure adequate and personalised care support in favour of citizens-users with complex social and health needs, in order to contribute to the achievement of the WHO general objectives on the subject and to the consequent new design of European health care systems.
- 2015-2016 – DATABENC project. Research work and activities for the valorisation and communication of the cultural heritage of Naples, with activities aimed at the realisation of the three-dimensional digitisation of the monumental spaces of Castelnuovo di Napoli.
