Graduated in architecture from the University of Naples Federico II. Biennial fellow at the CNR (1989-1991). Researcher at the CNR since 1998.
Lecturer in Urban Planning Technique at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Naples (2001-2017).
Head of Staff of the Deputy Mayor in charge of Town Planning, Historical City and Infrastructures (2003-2006).
Responsible for the City Planning and Valorization Department of the Urban Transformation Company Bagnolifutura S.p.A. (2006-2014).
Coordinator of the research unit GAP – Governance Analysis Project Smart Energy City . The implementation of Smart Energy Cities in the European and Italian metropolitan cities of the University of Naples Federico II within the National Operational Project “SEM – Smart Energy Master for the energy governance of the territory”. (PON04a2_E).
He is a member of the National Institute of Urban Planning.
It has developed research on the themes of the requalification of the existing city and on the tools for the implementation of urban policies. More recently, the research interest has turned to issues of governance of the metropolitan city in the light of the increasingly widespread spread of the paradigm of the “Smart City”. Author of more than 40 publications on some of the key issues of urban planning. Speaker at national and international congresses.
