Profile

After graduating in Economics from the University of Salerno and obtaining a Master’s Degree in Economics and International Finance (MEFIN) from the Catholic University of Milan with an internship at Prometeia (Bologna), from 2000 he worked as an Economic Analyst at the General Management of the Banco di Napoli (Studies Office) until 2003 and subsequently for SRM, a Study Centre based in Naples, until 2020.


In 2003, he taught at the Parthenope University of Naples as a Lecturer in the course on “Analysis of Economic Scenarios”, at the Faculty of Economics, Degree Course in Economics and Business.

Starting in 2008, he was a Researcher at the Mediterranean Observatory of the SRM Study Centre (Naples), becoming its Head from 2011 until 2020. During 2018 he was a Research Contractor at the Institute of Mediterranean Studies (ISSM) of the CNR. Between 2018 and 2020 he was Scientific Coordinator of the journal Dossier Unione Europea published by SRM. In 2020, he taught at the University of Salerno as a Lecturer for the ‘International Trade Laboratory’ course.

Since 2022 he has been an official at ISMed-CNR and since November 2022 he has been on leave and a PhD student in Economics, Statistics and Sustainability at the Parthenope University of Naples.

During his over 20 years of research activity, he has been involved in the analysis of the production, credit and financial structure of the Mezzogiorno at regional and provincial level and in sectoral studies. Since 2008, his research topics have focused on international trade relations in the Mediterranean area. Among the research topics covered by the most recent work, interest has mainly focused on energy, logistics, maritime transport and bilateral trade relations between countries in the Mediterranean and MENA regions.
