Giacomo Del Chiappa is Professor of Economics and Business Management/Marketing at the Department of Economics and Business Sciences, University of Sassari where he teaches “Business Management and Tourism Marketing”, “Destination Management and digital Marketing Lab” and “Service & Retail Marketing”. He is Senior Research Fellow at the School of Tourism & Hospitality, University of Johannesburg (South Africa) and Associate Researcher CNR – Institute for Mediterranean Studies (ISMeD). He was co-chair of the thematic section “Tourism, Culture & Arts Marketing” of the Italian Society of Marketing, where he is currently a member of the President’s Council.
His research activity focuses on service and retail marketing, destination branding, revenue management, consumer/tourist behaviour analysis, sustainable tourism, digital marketing, airport marketing.
He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Tourism Research and member of numerous editorial boards of national and international scientific journals.
He is the author of over 200 national and international scientific publications and regularly publishes in leading national and international scientific journals on marketing and tourism, including: Journal of Business Research, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Service Management, Journal of Services Marketing, Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, International Journal of Contemporary and Hospitality Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Current Issues in Tourism, International Journal of Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management.
Giacomo regularly teaches on national and international PhD, Master’s and EMBA courses and is involved in business training for tourism & hospitality professionals.
