PhD student in Historical Sciences and Cultural Heritage at the University of Tuscia (cycle XXXVIII), PNRR grant “Environment and Territory in Contemporary Italy”.

He obtained his master’s degree in Historical Sciences at the University Federico II of Naples, with a thesis in Economic, Environmental and Territorial History on the evolution of migratory movements of farm labourers in the context of environmental and social transformations in the latifundium areas between Basilicata and Apulia entitled Riconfigurazione territoriale e mobilità lavorative nella Basilicata del latifondo. Per un bilancio delle politiche di intervento straordinario nel Mezzogiorno dell’osso.

Since June 2022, he has held the position of Secretary of the Italian Society of Environmental History, of which he is also a founding member.

He is co-responsible for the Study Centre ‘Vulture Migrante. Il Novecento con gli occhi di parte’ (The twentieth century through the eyes of the partisans), whose research project and collection of oral testimonies on the migratory flows of the Vulture communities is sponsored by the chair of Contemporary History at the University of Basilicata.

Member, since summer 2022, of the Centro Annali per una storia sociale della Basilicata.

In the summer of 2022, he carried out a research internship at the State Archives in Potenza with the CNR-ISPC in Tito (Pz) entitled ‘Documentary and cartographic research for the study of the territory and the reconstruction of environmental conditions and land arrangements in past centuries, with particular attention to the problem of open water and the related malarial insurgence’, which was followed by the preparation of a cartographic-documentary exhibition on site.

His research focuses on the relationships existing between changes in environmental frameworks and the evolution of social processes in the contemporary Mezzogiorno, with a particular focus on the impact of public policies on the territory and economic fabric from the post-World War II period to the present. He has published several articles in journals on extraordinary intervention and migratory phenomena in Basilicata.
