Under the patronage of the Senate of the Republic, the award ceremony of the prestigious "Guido Dorso" International Prize, now in its 45th edition, will be held in Naples on Monday 8 July. For the new section dedicated to the Mediterranean area, the Prize will be awarded to Professor Salvatore Capasso, director since 2023 of the Department of Human and Social Sciences, Cultural Heritage (CNR-DSU).
Monday 3 June saw the start of the first excavation campaign at the Roman Villa in contrada Durrueli in Realmonte (Agrigento), conducted by the School of Specialisation in Archaeological Heritage, the National Research Council's Institutes for Cultural Heritage Sciences (CNR-ISPC, Catania branch) and Mediterranean Studies (CNR-ISMed, Naples), and the Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples, directed by Roberto Sciarratta.
Tuesday 7 May 2024 at 03:00 p.m. there will the presentation of the book by Gabriella Corona, director of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies of the National Research Council (CNR-ISMed), "L'Italia dell'Antropocene. Percorsi di storia ambientale tra XX e XXI secolo, Carocci 2023".

Launch in Milan on 25 and 26 March of the Jean Monnet EURSLAM - Europe, European Integration and Muslin presence module project, which aims to explore and better understand European integration and the Muslim presence on the continent.

The new website of the CNR-ISMed (www.ismed.cnr.it), developed by Antonio Rossi within the IT services of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies, with the supervision of Giovanni Canitano, is now online.
