The deadlines for participating in the first excavation campaign at the Roman Villa Durrueli, Realmonte (Agrigento), have been extended until March 15, 2024. The campaign is scheduled to take place from June 3 to June 23, 2024.

Leading the excavation campaign is a team from the University of Catania and the National Research Council (@CNR-ISMed Institute of Studies on the Mediterranean and @CNR-ISPC Institute of Cultural Heritage Sciences), in collaboration with the Archaeological and Landscape Park of the Valley of the Temples.

The call is open to university students (undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate) from Italian and foreign universities. Free accommodation is provided for the participants.

The campaign falls within the framework of the project on the “Multidisciplinary Study of the Historical and Archaeological Evidence of the Roman Villa Durrueli, Realmonte (Agrigento),” in which CNR-ISMed is a partner. This collaboration follows an agreement with the Archaeological and Landscape Park of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, along with the University of Catania-School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage and CNR-ISPC (Institute of Sciences for Cultural Heritage).
