Profile

Stefano Gallo, CNR senior researcher, was awarded a first time at the ISSM between 2013 and 2015, in the framework of the project Miur – Future Firb in Research “Mediterranean Borders”, and again from May 2016 to December 2018. Founding member and member of the board of the Italian Society of Labour History, he was also the coordinating secretary from birth to 2015, is currently its treasurer and is part of the editorial board of the editions SISLav-NDF.

He graduated and studied at the University of Pisa; he carried out periods of study and research abroad, in Lisbon at the Universidade Nova, in Paris at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, in Geneva at the archives of the International Labour Organization, in Nice at the Centre de la Méditerranée Moderne et Contemporaine, Université de Nice – Sophia Antipolis.

He has been a fellow at the University of Turin and has collaborated with the Fondazione Sabattini (Fiom nazionale – Camera del Lavoro di Bologna). He has collaborated with the New Model Development Centre within the European project “Change Your Shoes EYD 2015 – Starting point of the way to a ethical and sustainable shoe supply chain”, with a research on the production chain of the leather footwear sector in Italy and collaborates with the Historical Institute of Resistance and Contemporary Society in the province of Livorno.

He is a lecturer at the University of Florence, where he holds a course in the Department of Education on the method of historical and educational research in the web environment. He obtained the qualification for teaching in secondary schools, for the class of competition A-19 (ex 37/A) “Philosophy and History”.
