Presentation of the Celavie technical project

With a simultaneous online event from Sicily and Tunisia, the Celavie project (projetcelavie.eu), funded by the European Union in the framework of the Italy-Tunisia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme and coordinated by the Regional Consortium for Applied Research and Experimentation – CORERAS, will be illustrated to organisations, businesses and stakeholders.

The other partners involved in the implementation of the project are the University of Sfax, the National Research Council – CNR, the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries – UTAP, Green Future and the Association of Continuity of Generations – AGC.

At the heart of the activities is the development of a technological aquaponics system with a very low environmental impact, self-sufficient in terms of energy and completely autonomous for the production of plant and fish species, for uses other than food. One of the objectives is to help improve the sustainability of production processes and generate socio-economic benefits for businesses and local populations, but also to create a stable collaboration network between research organisations operating in Sicily and Tunisia.

During the presentation of the new integrated system, which is now in the final stages of its executive design, the results of an online consultation on aquaponics aimed at consumers, institutions, associations and businesses will also be presented in the framework of the project’s research initiatives.
