Three new CNR-ISMed seminar series kick off

Three new seminar cycles organised by CNR-ISMed will start in October.

CYCLE I
YOUNG PEOPLE AND ENVIRONMENTAL HISTORY
in collaboration with SISAM-Italian Society of Environmental History
Scientific Coordinator CNR-ISMed: Valerio Caruso

CYCLE II
BEYOND DISCIPLINARY BARRIERS
Scientific Coordinator CNR-ISMed: Valentina Noviello

CYCLE III
STUDYING THE MEDITERRANEAN
Scientific Coordinator CNR-ISMed: Desirée Quagliarotti

A full calendar offers a total of 33 meetings open to the public, in the challenge of providing new elements of knowledge to the scientific community, policy makers, civil society, the world of public institutions and that of associations and schools, for the construction of a fairer, more inclusive, sustainable society.

In the seminars, researchers will present and discuss research that goes beyond the boundaries of academic knowledge, to appropriate interdisciplinary languages through which to investigate in depth the dynamics that characterise the functioning of today’s world.

The spectrum of themes and issues that will be discussed is wide: from migration phenomena to climate change, from demographic issues to labour market transformations, from the effects of artificial intelligence to the problems of energy and decarbonisation, from the dilemmas of economic development to the new cultural challenges posed by inter-ethnic societies.

All seminars will be held at the CNR-ISMed Humanities Pole, in Via Cardinale Guglielmo 8, 80121 Naples and will be open to the public subject to availability of places

Attached are the 2023-2024 programme of the three cycles and the posters of the first seminars in October
