Can a poor and infamous district of Naples change its destiny thanks to its cultural heritage hidden underground? This is the theme of this book, which recounts the living lab organised by the COST Underground4value action to enhance the Fontanelle Cemetery. A work that involved many local actors and international experts in a process of dialogue and mutual recognition, fundamental for the empowerment of the community. The book tells the story of this journey, bringing together all the actors and activities, from the local coordinator to the visiting researcher, from the tutor to the participants in the training school, to the local actors, with an interview with the director of the San Gennaro Community Foundation, one of the key players in the ongoing valorisation process. This volume is an open window on the cultural and historical wealth of Naples, an invitation to discover and appreciate the city’s hidden heritage.
