On the occasion of the BMT in Naples, CNR-ISMed organised a debate on destination governance, with a focus on the new challenges that territories have to face in terms of sustainability, technological innovation and involvement of local communities.
The event is intended as a space for dialogue between the world of research, businesses and policy makers, offering an opportunity for critical discussion on new governance models in the tourism sector, which is increasingly central to the Italian and Mediterranean economies.
During the meeting, the main results of the fourth volume of the book series Tourism Studies on the Mediterranean Region, dedicated to the governance of destinations and entitled Tourism Governance Approaches for Facing the New Challenges of the Tourism Industry in the Mediterranean Region, will be presented. The discussion will be attended by the editors of the book series, together with academics, practitioners and policy makers, who will share good practices and offer a critical and constructive reflection on the topic.
