The seminar is organised within the framework of the PRIN 2022 “Folklore and Oral Traditions in Greek Culture”, a project that aims to study folklore, folktale, traditional storytelling and the related methods of dissemination and transmission in Greece from its origins to the Hellenistic period, taking into due account the system of oral and aural communication in Greek culture.
THE SPEAKER. Giulio Massimilla, Full Professor of Greek Language and Literature at the University of Naples “Federico II” in this seminar investigates the folkloric elements and their reworking in Callimachus’ poetry, attempting to clarify the relationship between “high” and “low” culture in the production of this ‘court poet’.
