Live interview on Radio 24 with Marco Torri during the programme “Si può fare” on a study published in the journal “Frontiers in Earth Science”.
On the occasion of World Oceans Day on Sunday June 8, Marco Torri (CNR-ISMed) spoke live on radio during the programme “Si può fare”, hosted by Laura Bettini on Radio 24. During the interview, the researcher illustrated the results of a recent research published in the journal Frontiers in Earth Science, which highlights a potential relationship between the circulation of the Ionian Sea and the levels of marine biodiversity in the area south-east of Sicily. The study is a collaboration between CNR-ISMed and CNR-IAS and is based on the analysis of samples collected during 16 years of oceanographic campaigns conducted by CNR in the central Mediterranean.
This research contributes to the understanding of the dynamics that regulate biodiversity in a key region for the thermohaline circulation of the Mediterranean, also providing a solid basis for future studies on the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems.
