Second SISAm conference in September in collaboration with CNR-ISMed

Date:
25 July 2024

From 26 to 28 September 2024, the second national conference of the Italian Society of Environmental History will be held in Naples at the Department of Humanistic Studies of the Federico II University (via Porta di Massa campus), entitled “Italian Environmental History from Ancient to Contemporary Times. Themes, sources and methods“, promoted and organised together with the Institute for Mediterranean Studies of the National Research Council.

The conference aims to provide an opportunity for a wide-ranging survey of the scientific production of Italian and foreign scholars on the environmental history of Italy, also from a comparative point of view, in a strictly diachronic perspective, even in the long term, and with an interdisciplinary slant that includes the contribution of other humanistic disciplines, as well as disciplines related to the bio-geo-physical sciences, with a focus on the use of specific sources and their respective methods of investigation.
