More than thirty years after the foundation of the Milan branch

A seminar has been organised on 19 November 2024, during which the disciplinary areas and projects carried out by the Milanese research group, which for more than thirty years has occupied a place of excellence in the study of Iberian and Spanish-American literature, from the pre-Columbian era to the present day, and in Italo-Iberian and Ibero-American historical studies of the medieval, modern and contemporary ages, will be presented.
After the institutional greetings, which will be addressed by Gabriella Corona, Director of CNR ISMed, Salvatore Capasso, Director of the Department of Human and Social Sciences, Cultural Heritage – CNR, Marco Castellari, Director of the Department of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Mediations of the University of Milan, Laura Scarabelli, Professor of Hispanic-American Language and Literature – UniMi, we will have the pleasure of the presence of illustrious diplomats in the person of Ana Teresa Lecaros, Cónsul general Consulado General del Perú en Milán, Georgina Marina, Cónsul adscrita Consulado General del México en Milán, Ana Vázquez-Barrado, Directora Instituto Cervantes en Milán, as evidence of the consolidated relations that over the decades have facilitated dialogue between different cultures.
Pier Luigi Crovetto, former Full Professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Genoa, will also participate as a speaker on the celebration day. He will give a plenary lecture on the foundation and scientific development of the centre, followed by speeches by researchers and technicians from the Milan office, Patrizia Spinato, Alessandra Cioppi, Alberto Guasco, Maria Elena Seu, Stefano Carotenuto, Emilia del Giudice and Martina Mattiazzi, who will talk about their contribution to the historic Milan office from different perspectives. On the day, the opportunity will be taken to present the premises and the prestigious library housed in them, which forms an integral and fundamental part of it.
The meeting will be closed by ISMed Director Dr. Gabriella Corona.
