The Institute for Studies on the Mediterranean of the National Research Council (CNR-ISMed) and the Historical Archives of the Municipality of Ferrara, which have been involved in the pilot-project of the Historical Atlas of Ferrara for years, organized a seminar to compare different experiences in building geographic information systems from maps and historical data.
The proceedings will open at 3 p.m. next Friday, Feb. 9, at the “Niccolini” Library, at 13 Via Romiti, behind the Ariostea Library, next to the Municipal Archives. Lamattina next the other two partners in the project, the Laboratory of Urban Studies of the University of Ferrara and the State Archives of the city of Este, have organized a more technical meeting on solutions to the problems that arise in the construction of historical GIS.
