On 9 June 2023 the eighth edition of “La Notte degli Archivi” will take place, involving archives all over Italy. The Night of the Archives, sponsored by ANAI – Italian National Archival Association, is part of the programme of the Archivissima Festival. The 2023 edition (8-11 June) will be dedicated to the theme #carnetdevoyage.

The State Archives of Ferrara and the city’s Historical City Archive have joined this year’s edition: the meeting will be an opportunity to present to the citizens the results of a project to study tourist guides in the city of Ferrara, carried out as part of a teaching workshop with the students of the Anthropology of Contemporary Worlds course at the University of Ferrara to compose a layer of a Geographical Information System (G.I.S.). The representation will include the location of proposed tourist itineraries and the listing of places and monuments in Ferrara guidebooks.

The workshop is part of an integrated didactic experimentation within the framework of an interdisciplinary project for the construction of a historical atlas of the city of Ferrara, in collaboration between the State Archives of Ferrara, the Municipal Historical Archives of Ferrara, the Department of Humanities of the University of Ferrara and the Institute of Mediterranean Studies of the National Research Council (CNR-ISMed).
