For the fifth consecutive year, CNR-ISMed will be a key player at the TTG Travel Experience in Rimini, presenting a preview of the fifth volume of the international series “Tourism studies on the Mediterranean region”.
This year’s volume, entitled “Tourism and Peacebuilding in the Mediterranean Region: Navigating conflict, fostering reconciliation, and promoting development”, focuses on the power of tourism as a lever for peace and resilience in Mediterranean countries, exploring its opportunities as a driver of reconciliation and intercultural dialogue.
The volume is edited by researchers from CNR-ISMed together with guest editor Danijel Pavlović, Associate Professor, Director of the Academy of Hospitality, Tourism, and Wellness in Belgrade (Serbia) and Secretary General of the Institute for Peace Through Tourism – IIPT Chapter Serbia.
The event will be attended by the publishers and guest editor, who will present the main findings of the book. This will be followed by a round table discussion involving scholars and representatives from the worlds of tourism, hospitality and culture, who will discuss and reflect on the need for more conscious tourism, which is not only an economic driver but also a tool for peace and sustainable development in Italy and the Mediterranean region.
