The meeting aims to introduce the basic features of the economy of the early city-states, as revealed by an analysis of cuneiform texts from Mesopotamia and Syria dating from the 3rd and 2nd millennium BC.
THE SPEAKER. A historian and archaeologist of the Ancient Near East, he has been a first researcher at the CNR (National Research Council) since 2023. His main area of scientific interest is the Syrian-Anatolian area between the 2nd and 1st millennium BC, in which he has dealt with problems of chronology, the dissemination of legal forms and archival practices. At the same time, he is actively involved in the field of applied digital humanities, to which he has contributed with various specialist contributions, the organisation of workshops and the realisation of several software projects.
