Political migration in contemporary Italy: definitions, boundaries, teaching proposals

CALL

Political migration represents one of the most debated topics in public debate. The boundaries and the differences between political and economic motivations at the root of migration flows are at the basis of discussions, conflicts, and interpretations that significantly affect the reading, perception and governance of international mobility. The objective of the training school is to deepen in a historical key the evolution of political migrations in contemporary Italy, from the Risorgimento to the present day, identifying both effective keys to understand their specificities and educational paths capable of supporting their dissemination in schools.

The training school will include papers and talks given by highly qualified scholars in the morning sessions and presentations of teaching units by teachers in the afternoon sessions.
Teachers presenting teaching units have been selected through a call and will be eligible for reimbursement for their stay in Ventotene.

It is also possible to attend the school as auditors only, without presenting teaching materials, by making reservations at the following addresses:

michele.colucci@ismed.cnr.it
donato.disanzo@ismed.cnr.it
stefano.gallo@ismed.cnr.it

Auditors will benefit from an agreement with an accommodation facility.

A certificate of frequency will be issued to all participants.
The School will be held in the spaces of the Center for Research and Documentation on Political Confinement and Detention Islands of Ventotene and Santo Stefano.
