lo clásico y la transgresión en La Fura dels Baus

As part of the Páginas de literatura cycle, Laura Ventura, professor at Carlos III University in Madrid and member of the Performa Group, offers an immersion in the theatrical language of Fura dels Baus, a Catalan theatre company founded in 1979, on the occasion of the presentation in Milan of their new show Sons: ser o no ser, directed by Carlus Padrissa. Their performances, on large stages and in unconventional spaces, with a great technical display and the physical dynamism of the performers, offer extremely original and engaging multidisciplinary experiences in a physical and visual journey through life, death, reason and madness. From ritual to mysticism to classical texts, as in the case of William Shakespeare and Calderón de la Barca in this latest production, La Fura‘s language has generated a loyal audience that recognises the codes proposed by the creators with their reinterpretation of the scenic elements. La Fura dels Baus challenges and transgresses the traditional paradigm of the actor, as well as that of the spectator, who abandons their passive role during the performance.
