The study is part of the PNRR Age-itAgeing Well in an Ageing Society” research programme, falling within the scope of Task 1.4 (WP1, Spoke 6 “The Silver Economy. Work, participation, and welfare at older ages“).

The research focuses on the determinants of job insecurity, understood as the perceived risk at the individual level of seeing the continuity of one’s working career compromised in the future, a topic that plays a central role in the social sciences. During the seminar, a systemic assessment of the macroeconomic and individual factors contributing to job insecurity will be presented, with a particular focus on the role of transparency in institutional communication by governments and central banks. A counterfactual analysis will also be proposed to estimate the impact of the absence of full institutional transparency on job insecurity among mature workers (over 50) residing in some of the major economies of Mediterranean Europe.
