Through a dialogue between different approaches, this volume reconsiders the concept of Italian post-colonialism through analyses concerning Italy’s colonial heritage in its relations with the newly independent countries of Africa and Asia. An object of study characterised by dynamics that transversally concern the history of contemporary Italy, the vicissitudes of international relations since the Second World War, and the social and cultural history of a country crossed by numerous tensions. In its articulation, the work proposes in-depth knowledge regarding three interconnected thematic junctions: the political elaboration of the decolonisation processes and the consequent planning of international cooperation strategies; the structuring of the complex system of Italian technical cooperation; the universe of mobility of people, expertise and means connected to the end of the colonial world.
