First meeting of the III CNR-ISMed SEMINARS CYCLE: “Studying the Mediterranean: categories, keys to interpretation, points of observation”. A rich all-female programme that, in the 2023-2024 cycle, includes 8 meetings with experts on highly topical Mediterranean issues.
In the seminar on 10 October, Desirée A. L. Quagliarotti points out that, as emerges from the latest World Economic Forum Report, the world is facing a ‘polycrisis’, i.e. a situation with crises of different natures that, acting simultaneously, produce an effect that is greater than the sum of their individual parts.
The concept of polycrisis is particularly evident in the Mediterranean region, which can be considered a microcosm of global challenges. The aim of the seminar is to describe this scenario with particular reference to the impact of climate change and its repercussions in socio-economic and geopolitical terms.
