On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Catania High School (1998-2023), the University of Catania, the CNR-ISMed and the CNR-ISPC have created, at the renovated chapel of Villa San Saverio, the institution’s headquarters, a small exhibition that puts together ancient sculptures, borrowed from the Civic Museum of Catania, and photographic portraits of young students of the Catania High School.
Starting from a communicative idea experimented a few years ago with a photographic catalog, the intent is again to create one of the many possible opportunities to get in touch with our cultural heritage and weave ever new networks of relationships between past, present and future. It is ultimately an experiment whose ultimate goal is to relate individuals to themselves and to others by transcending the limits of space and time, in search of an inner time and a common narrative. Faces of yesterday, today, and tomorrow dialogue with each other in a free form free of any conditioning, having as their only guide that of the looks and emotions that seep through them.
The opening ceremony will be held on Sept. 27, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at the former chapel of Villa St. Xavier. The public is admitted with prior reservation.
The exhibition will be open by appointment, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
