The Institute of Studies on Mediterranean Societies (CNR-ISSM) organizes annual meeting cycles in which guest speakers are invited to discuss specific topics, in the context of broad themes, with a constant focus on the Mediterranean area. (economy, environment, migration, history, cultural heritage, logistics). The meetings start with a targeted presentation, followed by a final discussion in which the participants can share different approaches and points of view. The guest speakers aim to encourage and encourage the comparison between people with different backgrounds, stimulating the emergence of new ideas with an interdisciplinary approach.
The February meeting with Giorgio Prodi offers the opportunity to confront an expert on a very current issue that will affect the competitiveness of many European industries. The intervention will focus in particular on new infrastructure investments planned both in ports and in railways.
Giorgio Prodi is Associate Professor at the University of Ferrara.
