The environmental consequences of littoralisation
Paths for promoting sustainable growth towards impact pollution

Friday 4 June 2021 10:30 a.m.

Access to webinar via Zoom

The webinar, organised in the framework of the "EU Green Week", is focused on the environmental degradation of the Mediterranean area, caused not only by climate change but also by an increasing anthropic pressure produced by migratory movements.

In that context, will be presented, in the presence of the researchers authors of the essays, the book produced by CNR-ISMed "The Mediterranean as a resource. Prospettive dall'Italia", edited by Salvatore Capasso, Gabriella Corona and Walter Palmieri and published by Il Mulino. The book deals with these topics in a multidisciplinary and holistic way, which is characteristic of the Institute's approach to research: from historical essays on the role of the sea as a transit route, to economic studies analysing the "blue economy" and the role of the sea in sustainable development.
