Students and Censuses
A collaborative experience of didactics in the archives between anthropology, history and informatics
Municipal Historical Archives
via Giuoco del Pallone, 8
44100 Ferrara
Tuesday, March 1, 2022, 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
ISMed is collaborating with the archives and the University of Ferrara on a project that combines didactic experimentation, innovative research and the enrichment of the archival heritage and its accessibility: the construction of a geographic information system (GIS) on Ferrara in 1881, starting from the combination of the family cards of the census and the cadastral sheets, freely available on the Web.
The day will summarize the past experience, also through the voices of the students, and then outline the contours of the continuation of the "pilot" project and its future expansion to other historical sources and other maps.
