CNR-ISMed, the Intercultural Service of Libraries of Rome and Goffredo Mameli Library, within the project "1871-2021: 150 years of immigration in Roma Capitale. History, memory, territories", open the review with the first appointment. To get to know the Pigneto district and its surroundings more closely through the immigrants who have characterised it.
The meeting deals with the theme of immigration in the Pigneto district of Rome from a historical point of view, through the contribution of historians, archivists and direct witnesses of both internal migration within Italy and migration from abroad. During the morning the numerous migratory movements that have characterized the Pigneto and its surroundings will be told and analysed. From the early twentieth century to the years of Fascism, from the reconstruction to the more recent period: migrants coming first from all over Italy and then from all over the world have constantly inhabited the territory and have characterized its historical evolution.
