Abstract

The volume analyses the main results of the research project “Rimedi allo spopolamento delle Aree Interne della Basilicata”, financed by the Lucanian Region, which involved researchers from the CNR-ISMed, Institute for Mediterranean Studies, and the University of Salerno, Department of Business Sciences, Management & Innovation System, in the specialist scientific discussion, which was both inter/transdisciplinary, on the depopulation of inland/marginal areas.

 The vexata quaestio is analysed in the light of a framework of European, national and regional policies designed to contrast/mitigate socio-economic-cultural-demographic decline with aimed actions for territorial revitalisation.

The aim of the project, which began in April 2023 and ended in December 2024, was to provide interpretative theories and policy guidelines to support focused actions to reduce imbalances and stimulate growth in inland areas of Basilicata.
